As a result of the temporary Play Street scheme, Westminster City Council proposed to make Northumberland Place a permanent Play Street in August 2021. After previous consultations with stakeholders (May – June 2021), there are now two design options proposed that require your feedback. Full details can be found at https://northumberlandplace.commonplace.is/
We want to hear your views on a proposed play street on Northumberland Place between Talbot Road and Artesian Road. The play street would give pedestrians priority over traffic during
the Spring and Summer months each year. The impact of opening up streets for children to
play and for the community to get together has been shown to build a higher sense of trust and
belonging, allowing people of all ages and walks of life to connect with each other and lead active, healthy and happy lives.
The play street would give pedestrians priority over traffic during the Spring and Summer
months each year. During the Autumn and Winter, the traffic would have priority. The timings and the way it will operate are being developed. Help us to develop the proposals further and choose a preferred option by having your say and giving us your feedback.
During these periods, the Play Street would be restricted to through vehicles, except for access to properties within the location.
